My dive buddy and I were finalizing plans for our annual diving trip when he asked if it was still hurricane season? Back to the Internet I went - and sure enough - hurricane season didn't officially end until the first of November. Humm, was Grand Turk in the Hurricane belt? What places were not in the hurricane belt? My research showed that Belize had not had a hurricane for many years - so we changed our plans. REMEMBER THIS! |
| WE ARRIVED IN SAN PEDRO ON OCTOBER 24, 1998 |
| He for a 5 day stay - me for 10 days. Marki at Tradewinds-Paradise Villas welcomed us to the beautiful beachfront lower unit. Then we went shopping for a dive operator. I liked Hustler's; just a stones throw from our condo and he like Amigos Del Mar, in town. We decided to discuss it over dinner. HA! Ladies, you know what that means. We then went to the grocery store behind Tradewinds where he bumped into Laura. As we left he said, "We're all set for tomorrow, we will be diving with Amigos." I said, "How's that?" When he explained that he had told Laura to sign us up and we would be there in the morning I laughed my head off. You see, Laura worked for Hustler's, not Amigos. . . and as they say, the rest is history. |

FUNNY HOW A LITTLE MISTAKE CAN CHANGE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE |
LET THE DIVING BEGIN
Between Billy Leslie and Ched Cabral we had some wonderful diving including a trip out to Turneffe to dive the wall. Billy made arrangements for me to move over to Rock's Inn (at a very reasonable rate) when M. left. Then - you know what happened? - yeah - Mitch! |
